Fishing
Please note we can offer varying levels of service depending on whether you are a day client not requiring a guide, a day or week client staying in accommodation but not requiring a guide and fully guided clients.
We can supply the following services plus hire and for sale kit and tackle:
-
For guided or accommodation clients we can supply for hire Hardy/Grey rods, reels and lines at £10 per complete unit per day.
-
We will sell leaders, flies, lures or any required terminal tackle and bait at cost to us. You will appreciate we cannot re-use these items and they are yours to take away or donate, via the guide, to the local club.
-
We supply safety equipment for all guided clients. We also advise non guided clients to buy or hire sensible safety gear depending on the type of fishing they are planning and the risk assessment they should carry out before traveling.
(Please note that we must advise non guided clients that Glennoo accepts a very limited responsibility for their safety insofar as we will make safe access for anglers and advise of any abnormal risk factors pertaining to a specific fishery or beat excluding weather induced risks as, by their nature, these change rapidly and regionally.)
-
Where necessary boats and fuel will be provided for but are normally charged as separate hire. For guided clients the guide or Glennoo must specify this in the quotation in advance of your booking.
-
If you require hiring or having us purchase for you clothing, footwear or any angling accessories we ask you agree this with the Glennoo point of contact well in advance of arrival date. We can and will gladly assist you in this but please appreciate we will need time to source specific items and sizes.
-
If you are availing of the guide service and not from Northern Ireland our guides can purchase and recharge you for the necessary rod licence and fishery permit so these are waiting for you when you arrive.
-
If you are staying over, but not being guided, your accommodation provider can sometimes arrange the same service for tickets and licences. We will tell you what you need and where to get it.
-
For guided clients packed lunches can be provided by the guide at around £5.00 per person but please give them advance warning otherwise you will go hungry! (or worse ... have to eat the guide's lunch).
-
Guides will collect you from your accommodation or arrange to meet at a convenient location and then ferry you around the fishery or fisheries for the allotted time. We do not arrange vehicle hire.
-
To discuss any of these requirements or perhaps something we have overlooked please ring Damian or Tom and we will get it sorted out for you.
Shooting
Please note. We try and offer a similar service to that of the fishing but would point out that apart from our ‘Free to Roam’ syndicates all shooting trips and packages automatically include a guiding service in the price.
We can supply the following services plus hire and for sale kit and tackle:
-
Our guides will advise on what insurance or certification you will require for the shooting package agreed, eg if you are stalking you must have a DSC1 certificate and we expect all clients to have a recognized shooting insurance/membership certificate such as the Countryside Alliance.
-
You may hire a suitable firearm under the "estate gun" provision provided the owner guide accompanies you in close proximity. Prices start at £20 per day depending on ammunition used.
-
If you require hiring or having us purchase for you clothing, footwear or any shooting accessories we ask you agree this with the Glennoo point of contact well in advance of arrival date. We can and will gladly assist you in this but please appreciate we will need time to source specific items and sizes.
-
For visitors from the ROI or GB we can send you the necessary forms and advice to obtain permits to bring suitable sporting firearms into Northern Ireland. Basically we do most of the work, which means you can complete your bit on-line. PSNI charge about £12 for this service so we pass this on. Please give us 2 months advance notice on these applications.
-
Again we can provide lunch for you, if you ask in advance, and we do have a dedicated tea room for the shooting guests to shelter in.
-
We can provide a basic kenneling service, that is warm and safe, for those staying overnight. Feeding the dogs will be your responsibility.
-
If you are stuck with no drying facilities we can help out.
